Who we are

Michigan and the surrounding Great Lakes truly are one of the greatest areas in the world. Its people are its greatest resources, while the natural beauty comes in a close second.

Blue Lakes Apparel provides hats, shirts, other apparel items, and accessories to show your love of Michigan, its wonderful outdoors, and the surrounding Great Lakes region.

I’m Jim and was born and raised in ‘down state’ Michigan and now reside in northern Michigan. I create all the designs for the items, many of which are inspired by the wonders of our great state of Michigan, the Great Lakes, surrounding states, and my sometimes quirky sense of humor.

I’ve had a creative side since childhood, studying art at Flint Institute of Arts (FIA) and Mott Community College and working with my dad in his painting and decorating business. These designs are a continuation of that creativity.

We work with a global Print-on-Demand company to turn the ideas into products delivered directly to you from their fulfillment centers.
